Condemn the Heretic

Night falls on a closed abbey. The brothers keep their duties by candlelight, but a hidden heretic walks among them, leading souls astray.

Gather 4 to 8 friends on your phones. Keep your duties, watch who goes where, then ring the bell and meet in council. Weigh every account, decide whom to trust, and condemn the heretic before the abbey falls.

How a night unfolds

  1. I

    Gather the brothers

    One player creates an abbey and shares the room code, link or QR. Friends join from their phones, and bots fill any empty seats.

  2. II

    Keep the night

    Each brother receives a secret role. The faithful keep their duties around the abbey while the heretic works in the shadows.

  3. III

    Condemn the heretic

    Ring the cloister bell to call a council. Share what you saw, question each account, and vote. Choose wrongly, and the innocent pay.

Ways to play

Classic

Find the hidden heretic, or two in larger games, and finish the abbey's duties before the faithful are lost.

Confession

A hidden Confessor absolves a brother, guarding him from the heretic until the next council. The seal of confession is kept.

Spiritual Battle

Corruption spreads from brother to brother. Restore the corrupted before they outnumber the faithful.

Tonight's vigil

One practice night a day, the same for everyone. Keep your streak and compare how you did with friends.

Learn the abbey alone with seven computer-controlled brothers who remember what they saw and speak up in council.

Family nights

Chat is filtered, any player can be muted or reported, and hosts can choose quick lines only, so nobody types.

The faith is never the joke. The heresy is the enemy, and the brotherhood is worth saving.

Compline Games is an independent studio in Colorado. We make games rooted in the Catholic imagination: monasteries and kingdoms, prayer and duty, loyalty and betrayal. We want them to be fun first and faithful throughout, games you can play with friends and family without apology.
